The RAF has a formal dinner in London every year to celebrate the anniversary of the Battle of Britain and 2017's theme was "Women of the Battle of Britain".

During the Battle of Britain, a group of women used to fly the spitfires and other aircraft from the factories to the front line and this bit of history was decided to be the key female link to the dinner's theme.

Each guest that attends the formal dinner every year receives a black slate coaster as a gift and this year's coaster needed to incorporate 2017's theme with two things, "the girl and the spitfire"and in a way that was bold but simple.

The woman in the coaster is based on an iconic photo of Maureen Dunlop who flew in the Battle of Britain against a spitfire silhouette.

The coasters were very successful at the dinner and a few guests snuck off with more than one!
