October 2018 - Present

In my current role, I interpret design briefs and produce designs that incorporate illustration as well as graphic design whilst ensuring I meet customers’ approval and adhere to strict design rules. The small design studio engages with both customers and the sales teams to provide specialist advice on initial artwork ideas and design features as well as producing designs from research and concepts through to completion. It is occasionally required for me to give presentations on the design features and process.

Graphic Designer | January 2018 - September 2018

Working at Oakwrights provided me with more pre-press and print experience as well as maintaining my knowledge in digital media whilst managing all social channels and updating the website blog regularly alongside my colleague and under the direction of our marketing manager. I gained knowledge of image editing and layout whilst designing all of their print literature including brochures, large format show stands, signage and magazine advertising whilst sticking to brand guidelines and working to tight editorial deadlines. Since leaving Oakwrights, they have become a regular client for The Lucky Type and I have so far designed the annual summer BBQ t-shirt for all employees two years running, gin labels and Christmas cards.

Digital Designer | January 2016 - December 2017

I worked closely with my Marketing Manager and web designer to create all digital visual aspects for the website, social media, affiliate banners and display advertisements, including deploying multiple email campaigns using MailChimp and basic HTML. I worked accurately to specific time scales and followed all work through from concept to completion. I occasionally liaised with external companies such as printers ensuring deadlines are met and the material is printed to the highest quality.

Design Intern | July 2015 - September 2015

During my time at Orphans I worked with the senior designers to ensure consistency in clients’ corporate and promotional brands including logos, advertisements and print based items. I also presented finalised ideas and concepts to clients, colleagues and senior managers as well as answering any queries they may have and completing any amendments to ensure client satisfaction.

My experience as a freelancer has enabled me to learn and develop a vast number of skills, both within a creative domain and within art as an industry. I have learned to be self disciplined which enables me to efficiently manage my time and resources to meet client deadlines.
