Illustrations can sometimes be the perfect little finishing touch if it suits the nature of the lettering, just like this poem I created for Katie for her friend's nursery and for a recipe for Oakwrights' magazine Poems.
If you'd like to add illustrations to the artwork, I'm happy to discuss if it's a good fit! Often the lettering can shine all by itself but for more delicate calligraphy, the blend of illustrations can really bring it to life.
This was a commission from lovely Emma at The Good Loaf Cafe based in Wiltshire as a gift for her best friend Charlotte. It's a quote from Grey's Anatomy that Emma shares as a sort of in-joke with her bestie.
For direction, Emma specifically told me she liked the swirly / cursive style of some of my work on Instagram and told me Charlotte's home decor was oranges and browns.
I drew up a couple of sketches and this was the artwork that she picked. The colours were amended a little bit to make it more suitable for Charlotte's home and then it was sent to print.
Dark and Twisty was a joy to create and if you're ever Melksham way, you must must must try a bun from the Good Loaf Cafe!

002 . Sketches
I will be in touch with you as soon as possible and once the contract has been signed, I will start sketching away up to three options for you.
003 . Refinement
I will then finalise the artwork from the sketch you pick and send it through to you for approval, after which, you can make up to three amendments and then the artwork is sent to print!
004. Receive your artwork
Receive your artwork through the post and hang your artwork with pride!
Artwork.
All artwork is printed on natural white, uncoated 250 gsm paper. Please note, due to the recycled nature of the paper, some flecks are normal and shouldn't compromise the artwork.
The cost depends on how complicated the lettering is, not the size of the print, but for a reference point, commissions start from £150.
